The Opportunity
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse in a USDA and FDA-regulated supplement manufacturing facility. The Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for managing all receiving, shipping, inventory storage, and product rotation activities. This role also requires forklift operation and certification, and a focus on maintaining regulatory compliance with GMP standards and safety protocols.

Receiving & Inventory Management:
- Supervise and oversee the receipt of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods.
- Ensure all incoming products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements (FDA, USDA, GMP).
- Verify that materials match purchase orders, checking for documentation such as Certificates of Analysis (COA).
- Manage inventory records and ensure proper traceability of materials from receipt to usage.
Shipping & Order Fulfillment:
- Oversee the preparation and dispatch of finished products, ensuring accuracy and compliance with FDA and USDA guidelines.
- Safely operate forklifts to load outbound shipments and organize goods for transport.
- Ensure proper packaging, labeling, and documentation of outgoing shipments according to regulatory and customer requirements.
Product Storage & Rotation:
- Manage the efficient organization of inventory to optimize space and access.
- Implement FEFO (First Expired, First Out) systems to ensure proper product rotation.
- Maintain compliance with storage requirements for temperature-sensitive materials and finished goods.
- Track expiration dates and ensure expired or near-expired products are properly segregated and removed.
Forklift Operations & Safety:
- Safely operate forklifts to move raw materials, products, and equipment within the warehouse.
- Maintain forklift certification and ensure all warehouse staff are properly trained and certified to operate forklifts.
- Perform daily equipment checks and ensure forklifts are in good working condition.
- Ensure that forklift operations adhere to safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
Team Leadership & Training:
- Supervise a team of warehouse associates, providing leadership, training, and guidance.
- Conduct regular training on warehouse procedures, safety practices, and forklift operations.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety protocols, and GMP standards.
Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure all warehouse activities comply with FDA, USDA, and GMP regulations for the storage and handling of food-grade materials and supplements.
- Lead regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Enforce proper sanitation and housekeeping procedures in the warehouse to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Maintain documentation for compliance, including forklift certifications, training logs, and safety audits.
Process Improvement & Reporting:
- Work with Warehouse Lead to identify areas for improvement in warehouse processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Work with the Warehouse Lead and General Manager to implement changes to workflows, storage systems, or technology.
- Report key performance metrics, including inventory levels, order accuracy, and any issues related to safety or compliance, to GM.
Reporting & Communication:
- Provide regular updates on warehouse operations, inventory levels, and potential issues to the General Manager.
- Maintain detailed records of inventory transactions, shipments, and receiving logs.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Production, and other departments to ensure smooth operations and timely deliveries.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position is responsible for supervising a small team of warehouse employees.
Competencies
- Strong understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and regulatory compliance (FDA, USDA).
- Forklift operation and maintenance experience.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in warehouse management software and inventory systems.
Required Education and Experience
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (required); Associate’s or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Forklift operation experience with current certification.
Preferred Education & Experience
- Experience in a USDA and FDA-regulated environment (preferably in supplement or food manufacturing) is highly desirable.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
This role is performed in a manufacturing setting, which may include exposure to varying temperatures, varying noise levels including loud machinery, and dust or other airborne particles. Employees are required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed, such as safety glasses, gloves, or ear protection, to maintain a safe working environment. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires prolonged standing and walking for the duration of the shift. The employee will be regularly lifting, moving (pushes, pulls, or carrying objects), maintaining body balance while using abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. The employee will also carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds. The employee will use frequent bending, stooping, and reaching, as well as manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) to operate machinery or tools and perform repetitive tasks. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts. Work may be performed under hazardous conditions such as operating heavy equipment within the manufacturing facility. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must have excellent stamina with the ability to remain focused and maintain a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced environment. The employee must adhere to all safety protocols and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position during regular business hours. Hours will vary based on training, coverage, and production schedule. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. This position does not require travel.
