The Opportunity

The Warehouse Associate will support the overall warehouse operations by assisting in the receiving, storing, organizing, and shipping of raw materials, ingredients, and finished goods. The Warehouse Associate will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with strict regulatory standards, maintaining cleanliness, and following safety protocols to ensure smooth and efficient warehouse operations. The Warehouse Associate will work closely with and report to the Warehouse Supervisor and Warehouse Lead.

 

Essential Functions

Receiving & Storage:

  1. Receive incoming raw materials, packaging components, and finished products.
  2. Verify shipments against purchase orders and ensure proper documentation is completed.
  3. Properly store materials in designated locations in compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines.

Inventory Management:

  1. Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records.
  2. Perform regular inventory counts and assist with cycle counts or full physical inventories.
  3. Report any discrepancies or concerns related to inventory levels or conditions.

Order Fulfillment & Shipping:

  1. Pick and prepare orders for shipping, ensuring items are correctly packaged and labeled.
  2. Assist in loading shipments for delivery while ensuring safe handling of all materials.
  3. Maintain organized and clear documentation for all shipments, including proper labeling in compliance with FDA and USDA requirements.

Regulatory Compliance:

  1. Ensure all warehouse operations comply with USDA and FDA regulations regarding health, safety, and product handling.
  2. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at all times.
  3. Adhere to safety protocols, including proper handling of chemicals, equipment, and materials.

Cleaning & Maintenance:

  1. Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, including routine cleaning and sanitization tasks.
  2. Assist in maintaining equipment, shelving, and storage areas to ensure they meet regulatory cleanliness standards.

Safety & Training:

  1. Participate in safety and compliance training programs.
  2. Follow all safety guidelines to avoid accidents and injuries in the warehouse.
  3. Report any safety hazards or concerns to management immediately.
 

Competencies

  1. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  2. Ability to work efficiently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  3. Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks (certification preferred).
  4. Good written and verbal communication skills.
 

Required Education and Experience

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Prior warehouse experience is preferred, ideally in a regulated environment (FDA, USDA, GMP).
 

Preferred Education & Experience

  1. Experience with inventory control systems or warehouse management software is a plus.
  2. Forklift experience and certification preferred.
 

Work Environment and Physical Demands

This role is performed in a manufacturing setting, which may include exposure to varying temperatures, varying noise levels including loud machinery, and dust or other airborne particles. Employees are required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed, such as safety glasses, gloves, or ear protection, to maintain a safe working environment. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires prolonged standing and walking for the duration of the shift. The employee will be regularly lifting, moving (pushes, pulls, or carrying objects), maintaining body balance while using abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. The employee will also carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds. The employee will use frequent bending, stooping, and reaching, as well as manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) to operate machinery or tools and perform repetitive tasks. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts. Work may be performed under hazardous conditions such as operating heavy equipment within the manufacturing facility. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must have excellent stamina with the ability to remain focused and maintain a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced environment. The employee must adhere to all safety protocols and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards.

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position during regular business hours. Hours will vary based on training, coverage, and production schedule. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. This position does not require travel.
