About the Company

Paleovalley and Wild Pastures were born from a simple but radical idea: real food can heal — people, animals, and the planet. When Paleovalley co-founders Autumn and Chas Smith saw how industrialized food was affecting human health and the health of the land, they refused to play along. Autumn’s own journey of healing through nutrient-dense foods lit a fire that became Paleovalley. From there, the mission grew roots, sprouted wings, and eventually expanded into Wild Pastures to bring regeneratively raised meats directly to families nationwide.

Today, Paleovalley crafts deeply nourishing snacks and supplements made with organic ingredients and honorable sourcing. Wild Pastures connects small American farmers practicing regenerative agriculture with customers who believe better food is worth fighting for. Every product, every partnership, and every decision is guided by a commitment to real ingredients, regenerative practices, and the belief that health is built from the soil up.

We’re a team of grounded doers, curious thinkers, bold builders, and warm humans who like to laugh while doing meaningful work. We're growing quickly, fueled by purpose and a shared desire to repair the food system one thoughtful choice at a time.

If you feel energized by impact, drawn to mission, and ready to join a company rewriting the future of food, we’d love to meet you!

About the Opportunity

Paleovalley and Wild Pastures is seeking an exceptional Creative Director to lead and shape the creative vision of our brands as we scale across direct-to-consumer, retail, and omnichannel distribution. This is a rare opportunity for a creative leader to help define the identity of a fast-growing national brand.

The Creative Director will guide brand expression across every customer touchpoint — from marketing campaigns and digital experiences to packaging and retail presence. This role partners closely with executive leadership and marketing teams to ensure the brand shows up consistently and powerfully across DTC, retail, ecommerce, packaging, and marketing.

We are looking for a visionary creative leader who can translate strategy into bold concepts, build a strong and enduring brand identity, and develop scalable creative systems that support paid acquisition, retention marketing, ecommerce, and retail growth. This is a leadership role that requires someone the executive team trusts to own the brand creatively end-to-end — delivering ideas and systems the entire organization can confidently build upon. The ideal candidate blends brand storytelling with performance marketing sensibility, ensuring creative both elevates the brand and drives measurable impact.

What You’ll Do
Lead the Brand Creative Vision

  • Define and evolve Paleovalley’s visual identity, brand language, and creative direction across all customer touchpoints.
  • Ensure the brand shows up consistently and powerfully across DTC, retail, ecommerce, packaging, and marketing channels.
  • Act as the steward of brand integrity while allowing the brand to evolve as the company grows.

Lead Brand Evolution & Campaign Concepting

  • Partner with executive leadership to bring Paleovalley’s evolving brand strategy and rebrand efforts to life.
  • Translate brand positioning into bold creative concepts for product launches, seasonal promotions, and national marketing initiatives.
  • Develop integrated campaigns that deliver cohesive storytelling across digital, retail, and omnichannel channels.

Drive Creative Across Growth, Retention, and Retail

  • Partner closely with Growth (paid media), Retention (lifecycle marketing), and Retail marketing teams to ensure creative aligns with both brand storytelling and performance marketing goals.
  • Provide creative direction across paid media, lifecycle/email marketing, ecommerce, website, and landing pages, Amazon, and retail marketing initiatives.
  • Ensure creative execution remains cohesive across all touchpoints.

Build Brand Systems, Packaging & Retail Creative

  • Establish scalable brand guidelines, creative playbooks, and design systems that enable teams across the organization to execute consistently.
  • Oversee packaging design and retail creative to ensure the brand stands out both online and on shelf.
  • Develop packaging and visual systems that scale across product lines and retail.

Build the Future Creative Function

  • Serve as the central creative leader for the organization, aligning creative efforts across marketing, ecommerce, and retail teams.
  • Influence cross-functional teams and guide creative execution even where direct reporting relationships do not yet exist.
  • Establish creative processes and production workflows that maintain high standards of craft and efficiency.
  • Help shape the long-term vision for a dedicated creative function as the brand continues to scale.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • 8-12+ years of creative experience, including senior leadership roles within high-growth CPG or DTC brands
  • Proven experience leading brand creative across multiple channels including DTC and retail
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating success in brand identity development, campaign concepting, and integrated marketing campaigns
  • Expert-level proficiency with industry-standard creative tools including Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Figma
  • Experience overseeing creative across website, lifecycle marketing, paid media, packaging, and retail
  • Prior experience working within a CPG brand environment
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire high-performing creative teams
  • Strong understanding of how creative supports marketing channels including paid media, ecommerce, lifecycle marketing, and retail
  • Ability to think both strategically and conceptually while also guiding execution
  • Exceptional visual, verbal, and conceptual communication skills
  • Highly organized with strong project management and creative production capabilities
  • Passion for building meaningful brands in the health, food, and wellness space

Bonus Points

  • Experience leading creative for health, wellness, food, or supplement brands
  • Experience scaling brands from DTC into retail distribution
  • Experience designing packaging systems for retail environments
  • Experience with Amazon creative ecosystems (A+ content, PDP imagery, brand stores)
  • Experience building brand design systems or creative playbooks

What Success Looks Like in This Role

  • A cohesive and recognizable brand identity across DTC, retail, and marketing channels
  • Breakthrough creative campaigns that elevate the brand and drive growth
  • Packaging and retail creative that stands out on shelf and reinforces brand storytelling
  • Clear creative systems that enable teams to execute consistently
  • Strong executive confidence that Paleovalley’s creative direction is clear, consistent, and built to scale

Our Commitment to You

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage with 100% employer-paid dental/vision and a small monthly medical premium for employees; dependents may be added at employee cost
  • Generous Paid time off to support balance and rest
  • Paid sick time for when you need it
  • Six (6) paid holidays each year
  • Paid parental leave for growing families
  • 100% company-paid Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, and Life Insurance
  • 401(k) with up to a 4% company match after one year of service
  • Monthly product stipend or access to perfectly imperfect damaged product so you can enjoy the nutrient-dense foods you help bring to others
